• domination crushing of Amiens, big city of common Picardy
• : 135 thousand inhabitants and agglo. : 170 thousand inhabitants (urban surface: 270 thousand inhabitants)
• Abbeville is a city also very important (approximately 25.000 inhabitants)

The zone of attractivity of Amiens is limited to the department. Amiens concentrates all the places of decision: - departmental and regional prefecture - district council and general advice - center of the taxes - museum of Picardy - Academy of Amiens - Amiens has an university center The other cities of the Sum are more modest. Abbeville is the only competitor of Amiens. Until the XVIe-XVIIe century, it with the same size that Amiens but it declined with industrialization. The sub-prefectures are Abbeville, Montdidier and Péronne
