Demography of Yvelines

The demography of Yvelines is characterized by its relative dynamism, by comparison with the averages regional (Ile-de-France) and main road. It is indeed a population in rapid growth since the years 1950, although this growth tends to slow down since 1999, relatively young person, with 28% of young people of less than twenty years, and whose activity ratio is high (80,5% for the men and 68,4% for the women). Yvelines are with nearly 1,4 million inhabitants (2004) the first department of the large crown and the fourth of Ile de France after Paris, the Hauts-de-Seine and the Seine-Saint-Denis.
