Demography of Iran
The population of Iran was estimated at 68.688.433 inhabitants in July 2006, of which more of the quarter have less than 15 years. Iran is a country ethniquement and linguistically very diverse, with cities (such as Teheran) gathering several ethnos groups.

Religions
The majority of the Iranians are Musulman S; 89% are Chiite S which is the religion of state, and 10% belong to the branch Sunnite, which is dominant in the close Moslem countries. The nonMoslem minorities include Zoroastrien S, Juif S, Bahá' ís, Hindouiste S and Chrétiens.
The minorities not-Moslem women strongly reduced in the last decades. Only 11.000 to 40.000 Jews of Iran remain in the country today, for a community evaluated with 100.000 before the Islamic revolution. The zoroastriens, the bahá' ís and the Christians knew the same fall of population. Today, there are approximately 8000 Christians Assyrian S, who belong to the Catholic church chaldéenne.
Iranians abroad
The Iranian community of California concentrates in the district of Westwood and Beverly Hills (8000 Irano-American). Hundreds of thousands of Iranians arrived in this area as from 1979. Today, the basin of Los Angeles is called “Tehrangeles”. Since 2007, the mayor of Beverly Hills, Jimmy Delshad, is of Iranian origin..
There exists also a Iranian Diaspora in France.
