Demodulator

A demodulator is an apparatus of reception of hertzian signals general public mainly employed in the field of the reception of the satellite Télévision analogical or numerical by or terrestrial.

Satellite

The demodulator exploits the above mentioned bands in a going transformed spectrum from 950 to 2150 MHz: the (A) - Satellite Intermediate Band -. With this intention it is necessary that it “is relayed” by a converter (head SHF) adapted to the polarization S (H-V) and to the bands. See: universal Head. The basic demodulator always comprises the DiSEqC 1.

Are the demodulators less and less required with the advertisement of the future stop (2010?) analogical diffusions satellitales (ex: Atlantic Bird 3) and multiplication of the numerical offers (DVB) via a Final DVB-S that some also call satellite numerical demodulator or demodulator DVB Sat.

The analogical demodulator is also used in ATV by the Radioamateur S in the bands of 2,3 and 2,4 GHz (thus ISM for the public, without license) and 10 GHz in particular by using a special converter assembled on a standard antenna Parabole, Yagi, Antenne patch, Antenne quad etc

The analogical demodulators with extension of threshold (LT) and to double filtering FI (27 /18 MHz) are particularly snuffed in ATV.

Terrestrial

This equipment of numerical reception also tends to be called decoders insofar as they integrate at the same time a function of demodulation and a function of numerical decoding (MPEG)
