Democratic party of Kurdistan

The democratic party of Kurdistan (DPK) is a Political party of the autonomous region of the Iraqi Kurdistan. It is directed by Massoud Barzani, wire of Mustapha Barzani, leader of the Kurdish revolts of the Années 1960 in Iraq. It controls the north of the Kurdish autonomous region of Iraq of which the capital from where it drove out the patriotic Union of Kurdistan in 1996 with the assistance of the Iraqi troops. Maintaining positive ratios with the Turkey and the the United States, it draws its incomes from the taxation of the trade with the remainder of Iraq.

The party is founded in 1946 by Mustapha Barzani which directs it until its death in 1979. It is then replaced by his son.
