Democratic party of Kosovo

The Democratic party of Kosovo (in Albanian Partia Demokratike E Kosovës or DPK) is a Political party Kosovo making countryside for independent Kosovo. It is directed by Hashim Thaçi, a former chief of the guerilla having fought against the Serb ones in 1998-1999.

History

The last legislative elections took place on November 17th, 2007. The DPK had 35% of the voices whereas LDK had only 22% of the voices.

At the time of the preceding elections, the October 24th 2004, the party gained 28,9 % of the voices and 30 of the 120 seats to the Parliament of Kosovo. The DPK formed the larger second thus groups with the Parliament. It is directed by Hashim Thaçi, the political leader of the Armée with release of Kosovo (UCK). The Prime Minister for the country after the war, Bajram Rexhepi, belonged to this party.

At the time of the legislative ones of 2001, the DPK had obtained 26 seats with the Parliament.
