Democratic party of Ivory Coast

The Democratic party of Ivory Coast (PDCI) is a political party of Ivory Coast.

The PDCI is member of the African democratic Rassemblement.

It is the sole party since the Indépendance in 1960 until in 1990, directed by the president Felix Houphouët-Boigny. It remains with the capacity after the first elections multipartists, organized in 1990. With its death, Felix Houphouët-Boigny, is replaced by Henri Konan Bédié in 1993. After a wild electoral campaign and legal debates, and following the military Coup d'etat directed by the General Robert Guéï, it is évincé capacity. With the legislative elections of 2000, it is the first political party of the country, with 94 seats out of 225.
