Democratic national gathering (Senegal)
The democratic national Rassemblement (RND) is a political party Senegal board, of which the leader is Madior Diouf, professor d' Université.
History
It is created in clandestinity by Sheik Anta Diop in 1976 and is officially recognized on June 18th 1981.It takes part in the legislative elections of 1998 and obtains a seat with the National Assembly.
At the time of the legislative elections of 2001, it gains 13.286 votes, that is to say 0,7%, and obtains a seat on the 120 which account then the National Assembly.
Professor Madior Diouf, which has been the general secretary of the RND for 15 years, announces his withdrawal after the legislative elections of June 2007.
The RND is one of the parties having chosen the Boycott at the time of the legislative elections of 2007.
Orientation
The party claims African nationalism or Panafricanisme.It aims at “gathering the patriots and democratic Senegalese and African around a project of political, economic and cultural release of the country and continent”.
Symbols
The color gold and the golden eagle in position of take-off are its symbols.
Organization
Its seat is with Dakar.
