The democratic national Rassemblement is an Algerian political party directed by Ahmed Ouyahia, the former Prime Minister and who supports the policy of the president Abd El-Aziz Bouteflika.

The coalition with the capacity is carried out by the president of RND , Ahmed Ouyahia. At the time of the parliamentary elections of 2002, the RND received 9,5  % of the voices and 47 seats out of 380. The RND formed a parliamentary alliance called “presidential alliance” in 2005 with the ex- Hamas (from now on Mouvement of the Company for Peace) of Bouguerra Soltani and the old sole party, the Front of national release of president Bouteflika.

History

The party was created the February 21st 1997 the day before the Algerian legislative elections of 1997 by close relations of the general-president Liamine Zéroual. It gained an astonishing victory with 156 seats out of the 380 which account Parliament. At the time of its second exit in 2002, RND passes to 47 seats.

RND is regarded as being the party of the capacity (with the FLN) and rather of right-hand side. It counts in its center a majority of senior officials of the State and administration. The RND is related to the great mediums of businesses and in favor of privatizations in the economy.
