Democracy citizen

Démocratie citizen (cd.) is a political party Senegal board, whose leader is Samir Abourizk.

History

The party was officially created on July 14th 2000.

Initially in the opposition, Samir Abourizk decided in favor of Abdoulaye Wade at the time of the presidential election of 2007. Present in the 35 departments, the party also supported the presidential camp at the time of the legislative elections of 2007, but does not consider fusion with the Senegalese Democratic party (PDS).

Orientation

In the beginning, cd. could be regarded as a left party of , of social democrat type.

Its declared objectives are “to make of Senegal a nation strong, modern, thrives, kneaded direction of the honor, dignity, authority and responsibility; a made up nation patriotic citizens who is a model of balance, moderation and measurement; to make company sénégalaise a company of primarily founded pluralist democracy on the cleansing of the political practices, a company strongly attached to the human rights and people, a company of work and engagement; to carry out the African Unit”.

Symbols

Its color is the yellow. The flag is of only one color in the medium of which figure the symbol of the Democracy citizen.

Organization

Its seat is with Rufisque.
