Delta of Jacuí

The Delta of Jacuí is a hydrographic unit of island S, channels, Marais and pond S of the Rio Grande C Sul, which is formed starting from the Rio Gravataí, Sinos, Caí and Jacuí.

These are the water which passes by the Delta of Jacuí which forms the lake Guaíba, whose water emerges in the Lagoa back Patos and, then, towards the Atlantic Ocean.

Park of State of the Delta of Jacuí

Being given the importance of the Delta for the area where it is located, because of its potential of regulation of believed and the maintenance of the grounds, the safeguarding of this zone is extremely important. It became an ecological Surface of protection the September 28th 2004.

Localization

The Delta is located on the municipalities of Porto Alegre (district of Arquipélago), Canoas, Nova Santa Rita, Triunfo, Charqueadas and Eldorado C Sul, for a surface of 17.245 Hectare S.
