Delphinarium
A delphinarium ( dolphinarium in English or dolfinarium in Dutch) is a artificial Aquarium for Dauphin S, like sometimes for others Cétacé S.
Generally, the dolphins and the orcs are high there in a broad basin, for research or to allow visits of the public. Although occasionally, they can be kept in nets open on the ocean.
Some delphinariums consist of a basin where the dolphins are presented in spectacle to the public, others extend inside very large parks, preserving other marine mammals and having other attractions. These vast parks are not often regarded delphinariums in themselves, but as parks of marine mammals or parks with topic (marine or animalist) who include a delphinarium. A delphinarium can be also part of public Aquarium, Zoological gardens or Amusement park.
Discusses
The delphinariums are very disputed, in particular because of the way in which they get the dolphins: at the time of huntings for the dolphins, owners of delphinariums are present. All the dolphins are imprisoned, then the owners of delphinariums choose those which they want to carry. All the others are massacred. At the time of these operations it is not rare to separate the mother from her small. The selected dolphins are then insulated then carried to delphinarium. This voyage being testing, little survive it.
The living conditions of the boarders of delphinarium are also disputed; the life expectancy of the captive Cetacea is shorter than in nature, because of the stress and of various infections. Basins concreted, filled of water chlorinated and without vegetation are not adapted to biology of these animals, which are nourished with fish dead (what they do not do in nature) and treated with antibiotics. There are few births in captivity (in any case not enough to compensate for mortality, so that many dolphins and orcs continue to be taken in nature), and when there is, premature deaths and the cases of debility are frequent.
In addition, the spectacles of dolphins, related with the Circus, are disputed by the defenders of the animals, which see there a setting in scene degrading for the Cetacea and without instructive interest for the visitors.
Certain countries (like the the United Kingdom, the Australia even the India) banished delphinariums on their territory.
