The delivers of Néhémie is a book of the Old Testament. It is called thus in the guns Hebraic and Protestant and corresponds to II Esdras in the catholic gun.

In the texts massoretic, it belongs to the Livre of Esdras until in 1448. The book covers 12 years (445-433 Before Jesus Christ)

The book of Néhémie tells progress and the difficulties of work in Jerusalem after the return of the Jews of the Babylonian captivity.

Summary

Chapters 1 to 7 speak about the first visit of Néhémie to Jerusalem and about the rebuilding of the walls of the city vis-a-vis a strong opposition. Chapters 8 to 10 describe the religious and social reforms that Néhémie tried to put into force. Chapters 11 to 13 give the list of those which were worthy and bring back the dedication of the wall. Verses 4 to 31 of chapter 13 tell the second visit of Néhémie to Jerusalem after a twelve years absence.
