Deliver contemporary
Over the period 1920-1970 one notes that increasing importance of the novel methods of manufacture (Imprimerie) and of the modern methods of diffusion tend to transform the book into object of consumption.
While the book of bookstore and that published by subscription are maintained new forms appear:
- the Book of art for which the use of photography color is a true revolution.
- halfway of editor of book of bibliophile and series the Club of books appears in France with the Release.
- the Book of pocket which reaches in all the hearths.
Over the period the traditional structures, publishers and booksellers of city, preserve, same reduced, their preponderance. Nevertheless the book stitch-paper declines, the taste for the artisanal bindings being less sharp while the book of pocket competes with victoriously stitched at reduced price.
