Delitzsch

Delitzsch is a town of Saxony close to Leipzig.

History

The city was founded towards 1200 (according to the chronicles) and receives rules it of city in 1300. It was many invaded time: by the Slavic tribes and the Swedish at the time of the War Thirty Year old (1618 - 1648). Only station was destroyed on the Second world war.

According to a search for 1996, Delitzsch counts more than 27.000 inhabitants but the important unemployment from which the area suffers since the reunification involved an important emigration.
