Delegation of the 2000

In the saga Star Wars , the Délégation of the 2000 is a founded political group with the Sénat of the Galactic République in the year 19 av. BY. This group gathers the whole of the senators being opposed to the operations Liberticide S and undemocratic of the Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. This group can be regarded as being the ancestor of the Alliance Rebels.

Foundation

Founded during the last days of the War of the Clones, the Delegation of the 2000 was born from a common initiative of the senators Bail Organa and My Mothma, both anxious in front of the increasingly undemocratic positions of the Supreme Chancellor. During a first meeting in the official apartments of Organa Lease, the two senators exposed their point of view to some representatives of confidence: Padmé Amidala, Fang Zar, Giddean Danu and Terr Taneel. During this meeting, it was decided to write a proclamation in which the signatories would claim with the Supreme Chancellor to cease amending the Constitution Republic as well as the search for one diplomatic solution to the war.

The Petition of the 2000

After Padmé Amidala was responsible for the drafting of proclamation, this last was put in circulation at the Senate in a more or less abstract way and collected the signature of almost 2000 senators. Consequently, the proclamation took the name of “Petition of the 2000”. At one second meeting enters the leaders of the opposition incipient the apartments from Sénatrice Amidala, decision was made that Bail Organa and My Mothma would not sign the petition so that they can clandestinely be devoted to the foundation of a more radical form of resistance without to be suspected by the services of the Chancellor… The evening even, it was Padmé Amidala which presented the petition to the Palpatine Chancellor who opposed to him elegantly but firmly an end not-to receive…

Fall and heritage…

The Ordre 66 then the granting with the Palpatine Chancellor of the Galactic title of Emperor by the Senate reflect fine with the idealistic illusions of the members of the delegation of the 2000… After a temporary arrest of certain members of the delegation during the promulgation of Order 66, it was the totality of the delegation which was declared " enemy of Etat" and tracked by the imperial intelligence services directed by frightening the Armand Isard.

Lease Organa and My Mothma, which was not worried insofar as they had not signed the Petition of the 2000, were consequently harnessed to found an organization having for goal to put an end to the oppression of Palpatine and to restore the Republic… Thus the bases of the Alliance were thrown Rebels.
