Delcourt
Delcourt is an editor French of Cartoon, Comic S and Manga S through the label Akata.
It is in 1986, following the fusion of Charlie Mensuel and of Pilote , that Guy Delcourt, then editor association of the latter, decides to create its own company of edition: Guy Delcourt Productions. It takes along with him several authors like Olivier Vatine and Thierry Cailleteau, which will be the authors of the first album published by Delcourt: Galères balneal (first episode of the Adventures of Fred and Bob ), a collection of short stories published at the origin in Pilot .
At its beginnings it will be devoted primarily to the publication of translations, the republication of exhausted works or the publications of collective albums. Its first success will be the album the Band with Renaud , adaptation of songs of Renaud by a collective of Dessinateur S.
It is by giving courses to the École of the Art schools of Angouleme that the editor discovers young talents like Alain Ayroles, Turf, Jean-Luc Masbou, Mazan, Claire Wendling or Stephan Servain.
From June 2001 at July 2003 the Delcourt editions made appear a re-examined monthly of prepublication of its series entitled Red Pavillon .
The Delcourt editions are diffused by Delsol, a company created in partnership with the editions Sun in 2004, and are distributed by Hachette.
In August 2004 appears the 1000e album of the house.
Since April 2005, under the impulse of Thierry Mornet, in the past employed at Semic, Delcourt launched out in the publication of comics in kiosks with three reviews: Aspen , Signal Comics and Chronicles of Spawn , while increasing its bookstore offer on the matter.
