The district of Dejvice belongs to the district of Prague 6, and is located at the north of the Château of Prague.

History

The history of Dejvice as a district of Prague starts in the years 1920. It is at that time, which the whole district - including its center, the place of the victory (Vítězným náměstím) - was built according to the plans of the architect Antonín Engel.
Little time before the Second world war, the district is connected by trolley bus and tram.

From the place of the victory (Vítězným náměstím), the district extended towards north.

After the Second world war, the international hotel, rare pragois example of Stalinist architecture, was built. This building, still of use, obtained the care of the best craftsmen of the time.

In 1978, a station of subway (the Leninova station, today Dejvická) is built. It finishes the line has subway pragois. At the same time the modern avenue Evropská (before also Leninova) is built, which joined the Aéroport of Praha-Ruzyně with the center of Prague.

A residential district

Dejvice is a relatively luxurious residential district. It is at the same time close to the center of Prague and green big spaces like Stromovka and Divoká Šárka.

An university campus, including/understanding the vice-chancellorship of the technical Université of Prague is between the streets Evropská and Jugoslávských partyzánů.
