Deirdre (“Pain”) is an young girl with the tragic beauty of the Celtic Mythologie.
Deirdré is the child of the bards Fedelmid, which lives at the court of the king Conchobar Mac Nessa. Strange facts surround its birth. At the time of a feast, all the warriors hear a tearing cry which makes them precipitate out of weapons: it is the baby still in the belly of his/her mother who pushed it. The druid Cathbad prophesies the arrival of an adorable young girl, if beautiful that much blood will be versed because of it. With its birth, he reiterates his predictions.
All want to kill the child, but Conchobar is opposed to it because it hopes to marry it when it grows.
Indeed, it becomes as beautiful as the druid had announced it, but it very little has attraction for the old king. She undoubtedly prefers to him Noise, a young guard of cows. Helped of his/her two brothers, Noise flees with its beautiful in Alba. They live hunting, at the variation in a forest then are placed under the protection of the king of the country. The intendant notices Deirdré and its king gives the responsability it to make him the court in secrecy, on his behalf. And the vain one is liked the play until she discovers that the king will make assassinate her husband.
New escape, new wandering. Conchobar sends Fergus to seek Deirdré, Noisé and its brothers, but their love story moved the heart by much Irishman. Only the trick and the magic capacity of Cathbad will triumph. All the partisans of Deirdré are exterminated, her husband with the sliced head, the civil war tears the Ireland, but Conchobar can finally enjoy its promised, during one year.
At the end of this year, it gives it to the torturer of Noisé, Eogan Duntracht. It is too for Deirdré, and it jumps into space whereas the tank takes it along near her new husband.
A pine pushed on each tomb of Noisé and of Deirdre and the two trees ended up intermingling to form only one of them.
