Defender 200 TDI 1990-1994

Put aside the new badges raising the denomination Defender, the principal changes relate to the travelling trains. Braking is ensured by mixed discs and drums but for the models 1994 a whole of 4 discs is founded out of standard. To note that the models receiving the option suspension reinforced for strong load receive discs before ventilated. The other changes of details relate to space with the elbows of the front passengers, improved by shifting the seats towards the center, and the appearance in 1992 of the power-assisted steering. The same year, avoids it front shock loses the hole for the passage of the crank and for the model 1993 the hinges of avoids breeze disappear. The style of body remains the same one as before but some changes intervene to improve the attraction of Defender.

Defender 300 TDI 1994-1998

Pearly and metallized colors are optional on the “Station Coach” in 1996 and these same models receive in option, starting from 1997, a roof painted with the color of the case instead of the traditional white roof.

In 1998, the engine 4,0 liters V8 gasoline and the automatic box of Defender NAS 90 are proposed on the commemorative series limited at the time of the fiftieth birthday: Defender 90 50e birthday.

Defender TD5 1999-2006

Defender models 1999 introduce a certain number of new equipment: they receive a new interior, an electronic instrumentation, a reinforced version of the R380 gear box, a box of transfer LT230Q to drive cable and a more thorough sound-proofing. Among the new options suggested, most important are the ABS coupled with an etc (Electronic traction control) and air-conditioning with an exchanger assembled in the grill. For the majority of the markets, the element-key of this model compared to the old ones is the new engine 2,5 liters 5 cylinders turbo diesel with intercooler: Td5, which replaces the old engine 300 Tdi, is a less powerful version of that used also in Discovery Série 2 introduced at the same time. The year models 2001 sees the arrival of a Td5 engine with a case ECU (Electronic Control Links) modified to avoid with the engine fixing with low mode. The model 2002 receives a backdoor glazed in only one part, a system of locking centralized of the doors and a central frontage modified (which accommodates, in option, the electric orders of panes).

The usual range of body is maintained (pick up, covered, covered with sheet metal, station coach). In order to maintain the sales Land Rover introduces a certain number of special series. Only Tomb Raider is available for all the markets and the details of the others differ from country to country: France for example sees the appearance of the series Hawaii, a blue convertible Monte Carlo available in 2001.

The 90, always in 2 doors, exists thus out of covered record player, covered PU fenestrated, hardware signal covered with sheet metal, hardware signal covered with sheet metal glazed. 110 the, available one in 2 doors or 4 doors, exists out of PU covered 2 doors, PU covered fenestrated 2 doors, record player doubles cabin 4 doors bucket covered but also in hardtop covered with sheet metal 2 doors and finally into covered with sheet metal glazed into 2 or 4 doors. The 130 exists only in version doubles cabin bucket covered and on special order (not approved in France) in simple naked cabin-frame. You can also order a simple frame cabin to answer your own desires.

Defender 2,4 2007

With the beginning of the year 2007, a new engine 2,4L turbodiesel resulting from Ford transit replaces Td5. The couple is in rise and account limps it from now on 6 speeds while the interior of the vehicle was completely reconsidered, with a new instrument panel and new seats. Also a heating and a more effective air-conditioning or an account turns appear.
