Decumanus
A Decumanus is a East-West road axis in a Roman city or Gallo-Roman. Decumanus was one of the main axes in the middle of the economic life of the city.
With crossed Cardo and decumanus, one generally found the forum.
Examples
- For Paris, although the layout is not very Net, the decumanus corresponded to current the Rue Soufflot.
- For Poitiers, Grand' street follows the layout of the Gallo-Roman decumanus.
