Decree of November 27th, 1792 (meeting of Savoy in France).

The meeting of the Savoy to the French Republic was issued on November 27th, 1792, on the report/ratio of the abbot Henri Gregoire.

Text of the decree

“The national Convention, after having heard the report/ratio of its committees, and to have recognized that the free and universal wish of the sovereign people of the Savoy, emitted in the assemblies of communes, is to incorporate in the French Republic; considering that nature, the reports/ratios and the interests respective make this meeting advantageous to the two people; declare that it accepts the meeting suggested, and that dice this moment Savoy forms integral part of the French Republic”.

The article first specified that “Savoy will form temporarily a four-twenty-fourth department, under the name of Département of Mont Blanc ”.
