Deceleration (railway indication)

The signal of deceleration (of type the SNCF) announces a needle (or several) in deviated position which cannot be crossed at the normal speed of the line.

According to the maximum speed of the needles, several types of signals of deceleration exist.

Deceleration 30

In luminous indication, deceleration 30 is presented in the form of two yellow fires, laid out horizontally.

In mechanical indication, it is presented in the form of a rosette (table) yellow triangular pointed upwards.


Deceleration 30 announces a needle (or several) in position " déviée" sees; to pass at a maximum speed of 30 km/h.

Deceleration 60

Deceleration 60 is presented in the form of two twinkling yellow fires, horizontally laid out.

Deceleration 60 announces a needle (or several) in position " déviée" sees; to pass at a maximum speed of 60 km/h.

Speedometer table remote

In the case or speed to be respected is different from 30 or 60 km/h, a table (with black figures on white zone) are used to announce the limitation.
