Luc Dupanloup , known as Deceived , (Montignies-on-Sambre, February 12th, 1945 - Ottignies-Leuwen-the-New, November 8th, 2000) is a scenario writer and Belgian draftsman of Cartoon .

It is interested in the cartoon in 1963, and is registered with the Academy of the Art schools of Brussels to the incentive of Maurice Tillieux, the creator of Gil Jourdan . It follows the courses there during 3 years, and at its exit Greg meets, then editor association of the Journal Tintin. He becomes his assistant and takes part as decorist in the realization of series such as Fifi, Fleurette, Luc Junior, Zig and Puce and, of course, Achille Talon.

During the year 1968, Greg requires of him to create a character to buckle a number of the magazine for which a page remains empty. Deceived draws a large ball of white hairs with legs, and names it of a name of bone, since it is a dog. Cubitus had been born, and made its entry in the Newspaper Tintin, on April 16th 1968. Initially without Master, it will be adopted one year later, by a certain Semaphore, old wolf-of-sea with the retirement.

In 1971, it takes again the characters created by Raymond Macherot, Chlorophylle and Minimum, and animates them during five years on scénarii of Greg, then of Bob de Groot. In 1980, it imagines the adventures of Niky, driver of weight-heavy. Three albums are published by the Éditions of Lombard.

In 1988 Ulnas is adapted in cartoon by a studio of Japanese animation. 104 episodes on the whole are produced.

In addition to Cubitus which occupied the essence of its time, Dupa was devoted to its old cars and motor bikes.

Price and distinctions

In 1993, Dupa receives the price 110 of Gold decreed for the whole of its work by Festival data base of It (France).

In October 1994, the Belgian Post office emits an Cubitus stamp within the framework of its annual emission " Philately of Youth ".

December 7th 1994, the Ville of Brussels associates Cubitus and Manneken Pis and makes of them the heroes of a mural fresco which decorates the pinion of 109, rue de Flandre.
