Deborah (" Debbie") Elizabeth Meyer , born on August 14th, 1952 with Annapolis in the Maryland, is old a American swimmer specialist in the tests in freestyle (of the 200 to the 800 m freestyle). At 16 years, it gains three gold medals at the time of the Olympic Games of 1968 organized with Mexico City becoming the first swimmer to gain three individual crowns during the same Plays.

Biography

In 1967, whereas it is not yet 15 years old, it beats its first world records by establishing a new mark on 800 m freestyle. At the time of the Pan-American Plays organized the same year with Winnipeg, it gains two gold medals by beating the world records in these two tests (400 and 800 m freestyle). In 1968, it is presented into favorite legitimate for the tests in freestyle to the Olympic Games of 1968 more especially as it has just beaten once again its own records during the American Olympic selections (by in particular adapting the world records of the 200 m freestyle). Disappointing step, it is essential of a short advance on 200 m then with a comfortable margin on 400 and 800 m freestyle.
