Deauville is a common department of the Calvados, in the area Basse-Normandie, in France. Its inhabitants are called Deauvillais (be).

Presentation

With its Casino of Deauville, its racecourses, its port, its marina, its center of congress, its villas its hotels and its discotheques, Deauville east one of the most famous beaches Normans. It is often associated with its opposite Trouville-on-Sea, its chief town of canton, on the other side of the river the Touques.

The village called first of all “Dosville” was laid out around the St. Lawrence church, of which the oldest part would go back to the 12th century.   • 2003 : first meeting of winter on the hippodrome of Deauville it Drums.
