death is my trade is a fictionalized Biographie of Rudolf Höß (famous Rudolf Lang in the work), written by Robert Merle (France) and published in 1952.

Rudolf Höß was the director of the Concentration camp and extermination of Auschwitz during the Second world war.

Summary

The history starts in 1913, Rudolf Lang is then 13 years old. It is high under a very catholic and normative education. His/her father, with which his reports/ratios is tended, wants that it becomes cleaned. At fifteen years and eight month, Lang begins its military career which carries out it in 1943 to Auschwitz where he is the director. This camp, initially of concentration, then of extermination, becomes the place of the slow one and groping developed of the Factory of Dead of the village of Auschwitz. Lang will attempt to it to achieve the mission which was assigned to him: to kill the greatest number of Jews and to eliminate from them most effectively possible the corpses.
