Death Row Records

Death Row Records is a label of production of Rap California N founded by Marion “Suge” Knight and Dr. DRE, in 1991, under the supervision of the group Interscope of Jimmy Iovine.

Death Row is the company headlight of the Hip hop of the Années 1990 since it counted in particular three “sizes”: 2Pac, Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr. DRE. Other rappeurs illustrated themselves with the group, of which MC Hammer, Lil Bow Wow or Lady off Rage on the piece “Afro Puffs” with Snoop.

In spite of the competition between the West Coast and the East Coast, Suge Knight had projected to open a subsidiary company of the label in New York called Death Row East . Eric B was designed to direct this subsidiary company and Tupac had even wished that the rappeurs of the Wu-Tang Clan join them. But this project forever considering the day.

Indeed, the label ran following the murder of its artist number one in 1996, Tupac, then of the imprisonment of the leader, Suge Knight, the following year. The rappeurs Snoop Dogg, Dr. DRE, RBX, and Kurupt quickly left the label and Nate Dogg, Lady off Rage, and Daz Dillinger imitated them afterwards little time.
