De Telegraaf
De Telegraaf is most important of the Dutch newspapers, with a circulation of approximately 800.000 copies. De Telegraaf (the Dutch Telegraph) is based with Amsterdam.
A subsidiary company, Basismedia BV publishes a free daily newspaper Sp! ts.
Leading line
This national daily newspaper contains many article devoteds to with the sport or events which create sensation, and one or more pages whose contents are provided by the magazine people Privé . The cover of the financial informations when it is carried out in a very serious way. Politically the newspaper is rather preserving. Thus of many leading articles supported the opinions of late the Pim Fortuyn assassinated for its political commitment.
History
The De Telegraaf was founded by Henry Tindal which launched at the same time another newspaper, the Of Current (the Gazette). The first number left on January 1st 1893. With died of Tindak, the January 31st 1902, the printer Hak Holdert repurchased with the support of the bankers the De Telegraaf and the Of Current the September 12th 1902. That was a profitable investment, in particular as regards the Of Current , since that made it possible Holdert of 1903 to 1923 to connect the repurchases of newspapers, and to stop their publication of it. Holdert added the subtitle Amsterdamsche Courant (the Gazette of Amsterdam) has newspaper De Telegraaf , and Het Nieuws van den Dag (the News of the Day) with the Of Current . In 1926, it launched the construction of a new printing works to the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal to Amsterdam, under the direction of the architects J.F. Staal and G.J. Langhout. Construction ended and the buildings occupied in 1930. Later in 1966, printing works will be assigée by workmen of building site in anger and by the sympathizers of the Provo, continuation after false information about victim which would not have been killed by the police force but by another worker at the time of a strike. In 1974, the De Telegraaf moved at its current address in Basisweg .During the First World War, when the Netherlands was officially neutral, sympathies French of Holdert and sonparti-taken pro-English was the source of some controversies around the De Telegraaf . During the Second world war, the companies of the Telegraaf published articles pro-German, which has brought to a prohibition of publication of the newspaper for one 20 years duration. This condamantion has however was raised in 1949, and it De Telegraaf is again become again the most important newspaper of the Netherlands.
In 1998 the Of Current/Nieuws van of Dag ceased appearing. Since March 21st, 2004, there exists a Sunday edition of the De Telegraaf .
Owner
The company owner of the De Telegraaf is N.V. Holdingmaatschappij De Telegraaf , itself property, minoritairement (30%) of the family Van Puijenbroek of Goirle. The company controls the newspapers De Telegraaf and Sp! ts , but also has participations in the chain SBS6, the press group regional Wegener and the news agency Dutchwoman ANP (28.4% since 2001)
Hollandse Dagbladcombinatie , or HDC-Media , which publishes Noordhollands Dagblad , Haarlems Dagblad , Leidsch Dagblad , IJmuider Running , and De Gooi- in Eemlander is a subsidiary company at 100% Holdingmaatschappij De Telegraaf .
Mediagroep Limburg , editor of the Limburgs Dagblad and the Dagblad De Limburger , also belongs to the De Telegraaf .
