The family of Rességuier, originating in Rodez in Aveyron, is with the number of those which were illustrated by their courage and their patriotism at the time of the English invasion. " In I372, known as the author of annals of Rouergue, the duke of Anjou, brother of the King Charles V, gave the ground of Gradels left to Guillaume de Laparra and part with Bernard de Rességuier, to reward them for their services against English. " Bosc tells that when the Count Jean II of Armagnac made his first entry in Rodez, on March 9th I38O, among the consuls of the city who went to his front found noble Antoine de Rességuier" (He was consul of the City in I392, and Guillaume in I425). At the entry of the king François Ier in Rodez the I533 on July 25th, in the place of “Leigna (of City) on a gate vault, avia una bleated there demoisella, girl of Mons de Rességuier, moulher die Mons of Boissiera, number combination twelve small enfans, all accoutrats die prejudices and other bels habillamens, laquella presented breadth gift Al rey, which will éra very claux of gold, and una cut argen brumat of gold. ”
In addition to the ground of Gradels, they had several houses in Rodez, the stronghold of Bonnefoussie close Salmiech, acquired in I465 of noble Jean Barthélémi Bonnefous, by Raymond and Arnaud de Rességuier brothers, as well as the seigniory of Villecomtal.
Thereafter, this family was divided into two principal branches: that which remained in Rouergue and that which was established with Toulouse in Languedoc and which gave a line of members of Parliament to this city.

I. Bernard de Rességuier, cosgr of Gradels in I37O, which was to be born before I35O took share with the first consul of Rodez Bérenger of Plaits to the expulsion of the English garrison in I369, rewards the Duc for it for Anjou gave him the ground of Gradels in I372, it was father of:

V. Bernard de Rességuier, sgr of Bonnefoussie, married I February 5th I475 Marguerite de Séguy, girl of Noble Antoine de Séguy, Seigneur of Anglars. He died about leaving year I52I:
1 Bertrand named by François Ier adviser at the Parliament of Toulouse on February 2nd I52O, which did not have children of Marguerite de Trémolet de Montpezat.
2 Antoine.
3 Jean de Rességuier married the I539 on August 24th in Sébastienne de Trémolet was the author of the extinct branch of Gravette in I739.
VI. Antoine de Rességuier, sgr of Bonnefoussie, had of Francoise de Montolieu whom he had married the I522 on July 22nd, eleven children, named in his will of the I545 May 9th of which:
1 Jean de Rességuier Ier, sgr of Bonnefoussie, adviser at the Parliament of Toulouse which married on August 29th I588 Francoise of Forcade and which continued the line.
2 Jean de Rességuier, treasurer of the fields.
3 Guillaume de Rességuier.
4 Pierre de Rességuier, sgr of Rusquière and Villecomtal, cosgr of Gradels, treasurer of the fields in Rodez in I569 which married Francoise de Cambefort who had married Jean of it in I585 with Anne of Prat girl of Louis of Prat and Anne d' Azémar, died of the plague in I628 leaving eight children.

XX. Their descent resides nowadays in Austria and Germany.
The French branch is always present in Gascogne, around the Castle of Juillac in the Gers.
