Jack DeJohnette (born in 1942 with Chicago) is a Batteur and Pianiste of American Jazz .

In 1966, it starts to be recognized while playing within the John Coltrane Quintet , then within the four-bit byte of Charles Lloyd, four-bit byte to which belongs then also the young person Keith Jarrett.

Jack DeJohnette then will play of the battery for Miles Davis, in particular on the album Bitches Brew in 1968. It is joined within the group of Miles Davis by the pianist Keith Jarrett. It will form, in the Années 1980, with Jarrett as well as the double bass player Gary Peacock, celebrates it Keith Jarrett Trio.

Jack DeJohnette also recorded a series of albums on ECM as a leader since the end of the Années 1960.
