Dazincourt

Joseph-Jean-Baptist Albouy , known as Dazincourt is a Acteur French born with Marseilles the December 11th 1747 and died with Paris the March 28th 1809.

Raised to the Oratoriens, Dazincourt enters to the service of the marshal of Richelieu in 1766 and tests with the Comédie company. Having decided to make its profession of it, it leaves Paris in secrecy and goes to Brussels to take the advice of D' Hannetaire, then at the top of its reputation.

After having played Theater of the Currency of 1771 with 1776, Dazincourt goes back to Paris and begins with the Comédie-Française the November 21st 1776 in the role from Crispin from the Folies in love with Jean-François Regnard. It becomes member of this theater in 1778 and will remain it until its death.

The Mercure de France of December 1776 comments on its beginnings thus: “This Actor has a formed talent, a reasoned play, much of intelligence, smoothness & truth. He is good actor, without being joker, & pleasant without being outraged”.

The greatest role of Dazincourt will have been without question that of Barber in the Marriage of Barber and in the Barber of Seville .

The year of its death appear its Mémoires , published by Henri-Alexis Cahaisse.
