Dazed and Confused
Dazed and Confused is a song of Led Zeppelin (1969). The original idea of this title comes from the singer Folk psychedelic Jake Holmes which had previously written a song with the similar sound on its album The Above Ground Sound off Jake Holmes (June 1967).
In 1967, at the time of the round of the Yardbirds to the the United States, Holmes forms their first part with Greenwich Village (August 25th 1967). Yarbirds are inspired by its service and decide to write a named song I' m Confused based on the melody that Holmes uses in Dazed and Confused . I' m Confused comprises long instrumental passages to the guitar, by Jimmy Page and quickly becomes a title headlight at the time of the concerts of Yardbirds.
At the time the group separates in 1968, the title is famous Dazed and Confused . During the first rounds of the new Led Zeppelin group, it becomes a showpiece of the group before the success of Whole Lotta Love on their second album. The version of Led Zeppelin contains words modified by Robert Plant and with John Bonham with the battery, the song develops a side maniac and threatening in studio. The live version, often lasting twenty minutes at the beginning then much more than thirty minutes in future versions, allows the Bassiste John Paul Jones and beginning again Bonham of the improvisations of the fronts of other titles such as The Crunge , Walters Walk or San Franciso of Scott McKenzie. Dazed and Confused is also formidable for its famous passage of the bow, in studio but also in concert. Jimmy Page thus creates remarkable sounds thanks to a bow of violoncello which it rubs on the cords of its guitar.
The title of the album is recorded in October 1968 with the Olympic Studios, London.
