Dawie de Villiers

Dawid (Dawie) Jacobus de Villiers , born the July 10th 1940 in Burgersdorp (South Africa), is a former player of Rugby to XV South-African which played with the team of South Africa. He played station of half of fray.

Biography

Originating in the Cape-Eastern , it was initially selected to play with the team of this province, the Boland Cavaliers, before finishing its career with the Transvaal. It carried out its first test match with the Springboks the July 21st 1962 at the time of a match against the British Lions. Its last test match dates from the September 12th 1970 against the team of New Zealand.

It was 22 times captain of the team of South Africa.

De Villiers finished its international career by also disputing a match with the XV of the President the April 17th 1971 against the England.
