In its stories, it creates a rationally explained coherent technology and a company and. Even when treating topics of imagination, the magic powers are treated like another technology with reasonable laws and principles. Several of its stories have militarist topics, particularly of the marine, adapting well in the military kind of the science fiction. It defies current military roles of kind by supposing that a mixed military service will exist in its future. Because it often places female characters in positions of leader, which was considered previously as traditionally male roles, thus being able to explore the challenges to take up by women in the military careers and policies.

Published work

Several of the books of Weber are accessible in English line, in their entirety as free shelf units of Baen, or, in the case of the more recent books, in the form of chapters of sample (generally the first 25 chapters or 33% of the book).

The editor of Weber, Baen Books, is a pioneer of the sale of e-books and all the titles can be downloaded in English against payment when they are not freely available.

The edition of the hardback “War off Honor” contained CD, which inter alia things contained the electronic copies of the books of the series available at this time. The label of CD declares explicitly that the contents are freely distributable and CD itself was placed at the disposal on various Web sites. This CD was only the first published by the publisher.

In France in fact the editions Atalante translate and publish the books of David Weber. With the editions Atalante, each cover of the series is illustrated by Vincent Madras. In 2006, the editions I have Lu started to publish the series in format pocket.
