David Sanborn (born the July 30th 1945) is an American saxophonist, associated with the Smooth jazz. It was born with Tampa, in Florida and grew with Kirkwood, in the Missouri.

Reached poliomyelitis still child, his father decided to offer a saxophone to him to reinforce the rib cage to him.
Il began in the orchestra from Paul Butterfied, with whom it develops his sound which will make it famous: a sound of tenor played on one… viola. The concert of Woodstock, shows this capacity with its contribution finishing with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.
Les Années 1970 see it playing with the largest (Stevie Wonder) or stars rising: David Bowie, on the piece " Young Americans" (music of end of the film " Dogville" , of Lars von Trier, with Nicole Kidman).
Le first solo shows the maturity of which it makes proof, and especially, at which point it will influence the new generation of saxophonists, who will not cease translating his play in various forms of expression (series TV, films, etc).
