David Ruhnkenius
David Ruhnken , in Latin David Ruhnkenius , (1723-1798) was a Philologue Dutch of German origin.
Born in Poméranie, he was assistant of Hemsterhuis to the Université of Leyde for the Greek Langue (1757-61), then professor of history and eloquence in the same university, and finally librarian of the Academy in 1771.

- Opuscula oratoria, philologica, critica , 1797 and 1823;
- Antiquitates romanae , 1835.
Its pupil Daniel Albert Wyttenbach wrote his biography.
