David Paich

David Frank Paich (born the June 25th 1954 with Los Angeles) is a American Claviériste , known to play in the group Toto.

Biography

He is the son of famous the Compositeur, clavierist, Leader Marty Paich, thanks to which he will start to learn the Piano at five years. He passes his youth to L.A and binds friendship with Jeff Porcaro to the Lycée where they study in the same classes. He will be the cofounder of the group with Jeff and the principal supervisor of the group during twenty five years. In Louse, David Paich plays there of the keyboards, the synthetizer, the piano, it sings, in particular on the tube headlight of the group: Africa . It took part in the writing of the principal tubes of the group and dealt with the musical arrangements.

Apart from the group, it took part in several projects with the other members of the group. For example, it is one of the clavietists of the album Thriller , with Steve Porcaro and Greg Phillinganes, which will become later a member of Louse. David Paich exploited the pieces Baby Be Undermines , The Girl Is Mine , Human Nature and The Lady In My Life . He made arrangements of synthetizers of The Girl Is Mine and of Human Nature , with Steve Porcaro.

Moreover, David Paich supervised the project of the band his film Dune of David Lynch.

Since the arrival of Greg Phillinganes, Paich is in semi-withdrawal compared to the group. That does not prevent that it took part in the writing of many pieces of the group. It is even the voice lead on a few pieces, like the hit Africa .
