David Milch

David Milch (1945 -) is producing author and American of Televised series. It is known to have created the series New York Police Blues and more recently Deadwood.

Biography

David Milch was born in 1945 with Buffalo (State of New York). His/her father was Chirurgie N, and his/her brother is also surgeon and director of the hospital of Buffalo.

David Miclh began his career as professor from English literature to the Université of Yale. Yale University, where He has member off Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity' S Phi chapter while George W. Bush was chapter president. -->

The success of this first script launched the career of David Milch as author for television. He worked then five seasons for Hill Street Blues, starting as editor of script, then as executive producer. In 1987, it created Beverly Hill Buntz (), a Spin-off of Hill street Blues (in which Dennis Franz plays, one of the stars of New York Police Blues). In 1989, Milch becomes executive producer of the series Capital News (), with Lloyd Bridges.

Milch created New York Police Blues with Steven Bochco in 1992, and worked as executive producer on this series during seven seasons. The first season received 26 nominations in Emmy, which remains a record to date. Season 1995/1996 gained Emmy of the Best Drama Series .

At the same time, Milch created Brooklyn South, another detective series. It Co-writing TRUE BLUE: The Real Stories Behind NYPD Blue with the producer of seriated, Bill Clark. It was also consulting on two other series of Steven Bochco: Murder One () and Total Security ().

Milch currently works on Deadwood, drama series on the topic of the western, for HBO. This series is based on actual facts, which have occurred in the mining small town of Deadwood (South Dakota) during the years 1870. Milch is creator, author of several scenarios, and executive producer.

David Milch is married with the documentarist Rita Stern, prize winner of a Emmy Award.
