David Martinon

David Martinon , born the May 13rd 1971 with Leyde (Netherlands), is the spokesperson of the presidency of the French Republic since May 2007.

Studies

Career

It begins like communication official with the “General states from the opposition” in 1990, then to advise in political communication and electoral marketing at Public the Acte company Communication of 1991 with 1994. François Léotard, Minister for Defense, then engages it like operations manager for the communication in 1995.

Into its exit of ÉNA, it integrates the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and becomes of 1998 with 2001 assistant of the spokesperson of the Quay of Orsay, then directed by the Socialist Hubert Védrine. Then he becomes writer with the direction of the European co-operation (subdirectorate of the internal Community businesses) of the same ministry.

In May 2002, Nicolas Sarkozy, Minister of Interior Department, in fact its diplomatic adviser. He occupies an identical function (adviser technical for the international and European businesses) when Nicolas Sarkozy joined Bercy, then finds its post of diplomatic adviser when this last reinstates the place Beauvau. He then cumulates this function with that of director of the international relations of the UMP.

He is the principal private secretary of the presidential campaign of Nicolas Sarkozy.

Following the election of this last to the presidency of the Republic, it is named spokesperson of the Elysium the May 16th 2007.

The September 30th 2007 it receives the support of the president of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy to be the candidate of the UMP to the Mairie of Neuilly-sur-Seine, old stronghold of the president of the Republic, at the time of the French municipal elections of 2008. This support for a personality little known of the ground is described as parachuting by part of the militants UMP of the commune, which prefers Arnaud Teullé to him, associated with the mayor in charge of the school businesses and Youth.

Very early engaged in the liberal family, it describes its course like a slow rupture with the Utopia madelinist. He declares indeed “During years, I soaked of Madelin. On the right, it was the only one which really crushed. He made very good papers, on Tocqueville or Hayek… But I understood that he would never have the capacity, and Sarkozy cured me my theocratic liberalism! ”. It is considered close to Cécilia Sarkozy.
