David Landes
David Landes , born with New York in 1924, is one of principal the American historian of the economy. he is the author of Richnesses and Pauvreté of the nations.
Biography
Moors raised in New York, accepted Ph.D. of Harvard in 1953. In 1964, he became professor of history in Harvard. He is professor emeritus of economy of the Université of Harvard and professor of history to the Université George Washington with the retirement.He wrote several outstanding works of history of the economy of which:
- Revolution in Time, Clocks and the Making off the Modern World, in 1969
- The Unbound Prometheus: Technological Changes and Industrial Development in Western Europe from 1750 to the Present, in 1983
- The Wealth and Poverty off Nations: Does Why Are Summon So Rich and Others So Poor? , in 1998.
Its theses
Its work was admired for their quality of exposure of research excavated in history of the economy. They were criticized for their supposed Eurocentrisme, a criticism that he endorses explicitly, explaining why the explanation of an economic miracle which occurred in an original manner in Europe was to profit from a Eurocentrique analysis.
