David López-Zubero

David López-Zubero Purcell (born the February 11th 1959), is a Spanish swimmer, specialist in the stroke butterfly.

Biography

David López-Zubero takes part in three Olympic Games, the 1 in 1976. At the time of its 2nd participation, that is to say in 1980 with those of Moscow, it is classified in the 3rd place of the test of the 100 m butterfly; this bronze medal is the 1 medal obtained by Spanish swimming with the Olympic Games.

In this same discipline, he is vice-champion of Europe in 1983.

In the Years 1990, he is trainer attending the Pine Crest School (), with Fort Lauderdale.

With the Holy Mark' S Episcopal School at Fort Lauderdale, he is professor of sciences, 2004 to 2007 and trainer of swimming of 2004 to 2006.

Family exploits

David López-Zubero is the older brother of Martín López-Zubero, the Olympic champion of the test of the 200 m back in 1992, with Barcelona.

In the history of Olympic swimming, David and Martín are the 4th pair of brothers to being a medal-holder, after Duke and Sam Kahanamoku, Warren and Pau Kealoha in the Années 1920, Bruce and Steve Furniss in the Années 1970.
