David Kalākaua (November 16th 1836, January 20th 1891), complete name: David the `amea Kamanakapu `U Mahinulani Nalaiaehuokalani Lumialani Kalākaua , known as “ the merry monarch

Last king reigning on Hawaii, of the February 12th 1874 until its death with San Francisco the January 20th 1891. His/her sister the queen Lydia Liliuokalani succeeded to him with misfortune.

David Kalākaua being type-setter of music and player of Guitar and Ukulélé, it encouraged the development of the music of Hawaii, and restores the culture hawaienne of Hula in a form adapted to his time.
