David Holmes is a Dj, Compositeur of original soundtracks of film, music producer and Acteur, born the February 14th 1969 with Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Biography

David Holmes begins his musical career at the 15 years age, where it mix in the pubs and the Nightclubs of its birthplace. The artist produces his first titles studio in 1992.

David Holmes signs three years later its first album This Film' S Crap, Let' S Slash The Seats on the label Go Beat! . A title of the disc is used for the film " The Range ". Consequently, the musician weaves important bonds with cinema industry.

In 1997 it goes to New York to record a new album Let' S Get Killed and the same year, the artist signs the original soundtrack of the film " Resurrection Man ". The following year it signs that of " Out of reach " , the first collaboration with the realizer Steven Soderbergh, for whom it will carry out three other compositions.

Consequently, David Holmes will alternate between his own compositions and those carried out for the film music. He also will launch out in the production of artists such Primal Scream, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion or Martina Topley Bird which will also collaborate on the album Bow Down To The Exit Sign . In 2001 it work with the group New Order in order to carry out the original soundtrack of " Buffalo Soldiers ".

In 2002, the artist founds the entity " Free Association" with another type-setter and musician, Steve Hilton. Together they will sign an album as well as the original soundtrack of the film " Code 46 ".

Description

The musical style of Holmes is a mixture of rock'n'roll and Jazz of years 70-80, produced through a characteristic sound Trip hop: a low line of very worked and it quasi omnipresence of melodies played Fender Rhodos.
