David Hockney

Painter and Photographer English, David Hockney was born in 1937 with Bradford, with the the United Kingdom, it lives with Los Angeles, California, the United States. It is a figure of the movement Pop Art of the Sixties.

Biography

After studies with the Royal College off Art of London, it launches out in painting. Figurative, with against current of the contemporary movements, it is strongly inspired by Picasso by locating its works.

It uses the Photographie to recompose places, landscapes, objects. Starting from hundreds of shifted catches of sight the ones compared to the others, it paints “has closer Large Canyon”. Made famous for the table “has Bigger Splash”, it painted the series “Some Very New Paintings” and created number of photocollages (“has Flesh, Jardin of Luxembourg”, “The Skater”). As of 1960, David Hockney mixes Abstraction, Figuration and Pop Art in its fabrics. It paints consumables current, characters, adds inscriptions in its tables. In 1963, its work becomes more autonomous and autobiographical. It paints Autoportrait S, the portraits of his parents, friends, series of indoor scenes, boys under the shower, of swimming pools, voyages.

It poses on the fabric a very thin coat of paint affixed in with-dishes which gives an impression close to photography. He lives and works in California since 1998.
