David Durand

David Durand , Protestant minister and French writer, born towards 1680 with Saint-Pargoire (Herault), dead the January 16th 1763 with London, uncle of David-Henri Durand (1731 - 1808).

It was obliged to leave the France because of its religion, remained some time in Holland where it bound with Pierre Bayle, went in 1714 to London, where he was named minister of a French church, and there died in 82 years.

It left:

  • a Life of Lucilio Vanini , 1717
  • the the Religion of Mahométans , 1721
  • it continued Paul Rapin of Thoyras

It translated the Académiques Cicéron, London, 1740.
