David C. Jewitt

David C. Jewitt is a professor of astronomy to the Institut for Astronomy of the university of Hawaii. It was born in Great Britain in 1958 and obtained its diploma in 1979 with the Université of London. Jewitt received its doctorate in astronomy with the Californien institute of Technology (Caltech) in 1980. Its research relates to the objects transneptuniens, the moons of Jupiter, the formation of the Solar system and the physical properties of the Comet S.

It has in its table of hunting not less than 46 of the Jupiter moons, like Narvi, Margaret, Psamathée and the Astéroïde transneptunien. The asteroid (6434) Jewitt was named in its honor.
