David Altmejd

David Altmejd is a Sculpteur Québécois (born with Montreal in 1974). He lives and works with New York with the the United States and London in Great Britain.

Career

Altmejd holds a control in beautiful arts of the Université Columbia (New York) and a baccalaureat of the Université from Quebec in Montreal. Since 2001, Altmejd takes part in famous exposures of groups international. In 2003, it is invited to Biennial Istanbul (Turkey). In 2004, its parts are presented to biennial American art of the museum Whitney in New York. In 2006, Altmejd was selected by the Gallery of the UQAM to be the official representative of Canada to the Biennale de Venise of 2007.

Work of the artist

The sculptures of David Altmejd mix objects various such of the heads of wolves-garous with Graffiti S of the star of David, underclothing soiled, turns of mirrors, plastic flowers and paste jewelry. The wolves-garous so much often appear in its works that they became its signature.
