David Alfaro Siqueiros

David Alfaro Siqueiros (December 29th 1896 - January 6th 1974) was a Mexican painter . He known for his works is impressed of social Réalisme, in particular his frescos on the Mexican history. He was also a political and politicking activist communist.
The artist
Its notable achievements with Mexico City include/understand a collaborative mural fresco with the trade union of the Mexican electricians (1939-40), Of Porfiriato to the Revolution , the National museum of History (1957-55), the walk of humanity and the Polyforum Cultural Siqueiros on the Avenida of los Insurgentes (1965-71), then its role in order to get mandates of mural frescos to the artists on the campus of the autonomous National university of Mexico of Mexico City in the years 1950.Siqueiros is one of the famous Mexican artists who carry out frescos at that time, as Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco and Rufino Tamayo. Its art is a direct reflection of its time, strongly influenced by the Mexican Révolution. One violent and chaotic period of the Mexican history during which various social and political factions clash to reach the capacity. The period between the years 1920 to 1950 is called Mexican Renaissance, Siqueiros endeavors to create an art which is at the same time Mexican and universal.
The policy
Political activism holds a big part in the life of Siqueiros which frequently inspires it in its artistic career. In 1911, whereas it is only fifteen years old, Siqueiros is registered with the Académie of San Carlos and takes part in a student's strike which protests against the methods of teaching of the academy and claims the dismissal of its director. One year afterwards, he conspires against the dictatorship of Victoriano Huerta.At eighteen years, it fights in the rows of the Constitutionaliste Army against the forces of the General Victoriano Huerta. It temporarily gives up painting to be devoted to organize the minors of Jalisco. It launches a political workshop to New York in preparation for the General strike for peace of 1936 and the procession of the Labor Day. The young person Jackson Pollock takes part in the workshop and to organize the event.
Between 1937 and 1938 it fights with the republican forces at the time of the Guerre of Spain, against the military Coup d'etat of Francisco Franco. It will be exiled twice of Mexico, once in 1932 then again in 1940, after its attempted murder of Leon Trotsky.
Of 1919 with 1922 it visits the Belgium, the France, the Italy and the Spain to study there Article Throughout its career, it travels in order to promote its vision of the mural, with the the United States, in South America (Uruguay, Argentine and Chile), with Cuba, in Europe, and Soviet Union.
David Alfaro Siqueiros will receive the Prix Lénine for peace in 1966. He dies in Cuernavaca in 1974.
