History

Monuments

To see in the village of Daverdisse and its surroundings:
  • the farm of Mohimont (existence attested since at least the XVIIIe century) - does not visit itself.
Of 1838 with 1848, Pierre-Napoleon Bonaparte, nephew of Napoleon 1st and cousin of Napoleon III, lived there with his/her partner Pink Hesnard, before returning to France following the Révolution of 1848. It will return to exile in the area (with Nassogne) in 1870 after the assassination of the journalist Victor Noir.

The writer and poet Adrien de Prémorel also liked to find themselves there. " It is an old farm, long, low, and all alone in a content of greenery ".

The farm did not have any memory of these occupants. On the other hand, the trunk road 857 which connects HALMA to DAVERDISSE bears the name of " road Pierre Napoleon Bonaparte" and a stele set up not far from the farm of Mohimont points out the stay of the prince.

  • the Saint-Pierre church, neo-classic building of 1847, and its polychrome retable of XVIe century.

  • the old mill along Injures
  • the old castle of the Lords of Daverdisse
